Rural Community Health Scholarships

CRHC will match grants, two-to-one, up to $1,000/year!

Purpose of Grants

Small grants that help pay for the training and/or education of a local healthcare provider are available for rural facilities or community groups. CRHC will match, two-to-one, the support provided up to $1,000 a year. Awards are made for one year, but applicants can reapply in subsequent years.

Eligibility and Application

Only rural facilities and communities are eligible to apply. By "rural," for this program, we mean outside of one of Colorado's 17 metropolitan counties. The Board of Directors will occasionally consider compelling applications from smaller, isolated communities within the larger metropolitan counties. The application is easy to complete and is accepted year-round. To find out more about this program, please see the MJJ Fact Sheet and the MJJ Info Sheet.

For an application, please click here; or, call CRHC at 800-851-6782 or 303-832-7493.

When and How are Applications Reviewed?

CRHC accepts applications throughout the year. Staff will conduct an initial assessment to determine if the application meets funding criteria and if the necessary information is included. If the application is incomplete or does not meet criteria, the applicant will be notified that the grant is ineligible.

A Grant Review Committee (GRC) consisting of board members, staff, and community representatives will review applications that meet funding criteria, this usually occurs within two weeks of the receipt of the application by CRHC. The GRC can approve applications as submitted or attach restrictions or limitations.

CRHC staff will notify applicant right away of the award decision. If a grant is not approved, CRHC will provide the rationale of the GRC.
